RN to MS Program

[RN to MS Program 1203.10]

The RN to MS program is designed for working Registered Nurses with a Bachelor's degree in a discipline outside of nursing who desire an M.S. in Nursing Leadership and Administration or an M.S. in Nursing Education.

This online program offers a unique path to a Bachelor's and Master's degree in nursing for Registered Nurses with a Bachelor's degree in another field.

Admission Qualifications: 

  • Associate degree or diploma from an accredited nursing program*
  • Bachelor's degree in a non-nursing field from an accredited program*
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure within the United States or Canada
  • Current employment as a registered nurse of at least 16 hours per week
  • Review and sign the technical standards

SPECIFICS OF THE R.N. TO M.S. PROGRAM

Minimum Total Hours:  53-56 credit hours

Minimum Requirements:  Cumulative GPA of 3.0; no grade less than B-.

  • GNSG 5300 (5) Research & Evidence-Based Practice for Advanced Nursing Practice
  • GNSG 5100 (5) Nursing Science & Theory for the Master's Prepared Nurse

Students are awarded a B.S. degree upon successful completion of courses through GNSG 5100.
