This A.S. program is designed for students who attend Roberts Wesleyan University for two years and who will then have the opportunity to transition into a B.A. or B.S. program.

 SPECIFICS OF THE ARTS AND CULTURE A.S. DEGREE

Minimum Total Hours: 60

Total Liberal Arts Hours Required:  30 (Satisfied through general education and major requirements.)

General Education Requirements: Students earning an Associate's degree complete 21 credits of General Education requirements, 9 of which are also used for requirements in the major.  

Minimum Requirements: Overall and major GPA of 2.0; no grade less than C- in the major.

Transfer Requirements: See institutional transfer policies.

Application to the Major: Standard institutional major application must be submitted.  A minimum overall GPA of 2.0 is required for acceptance to the major.

PLEASE NOTE that the age requirement of 21 for admission into the Arts and Culture, A.S. program does not apply to students who have applied and been approved for admission into the program via the NYC Expansion application process.

  • COMD 2203, Media, Religion, and Faith
  • COMM 1105, Fundamentals of Oral Communication
  • FNAR 2300, The Art of Film
  • HIST 1400, Western History in Global Context
  • LITR 1010, Introduction to Literature
  • MUSC 2301, Music, History, and Literature I
  • PHIL 2202, Philosophical Ethics
  • POLS 3100, Principles of Political Science
  • an ARTS elective
  • a Music elective
