Profile

Laura Coles joined Roberts Wesleyan University in August 2013 and brings deep expertise in emergency and trauma nursing, transcultural and global health nursing, disaster response, and both pediatric and adult post-surgical care.

Outside of nursing, Laura enjoys gardening, kayaking, reading by the creek, hammock camping, and adventuring with her nieces and nephews.

  • Emergency Nurse at URMC Strong West Emergency Department
  • Member of Samaritan's Purse Disaster Assistance Response Team: intermittent deployment for international disaster emergencies (war, epidemic, natural disaster) as a nurse with the field hospital.  
    Item Writer for Certified Emergency Nurse exam, BCEN
  • Camp Nurse at Camp of the Woods (seasonal)
  • Member of Simulation Educators of Western NY, Society for Simulation in Healthcare, Emergency Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau.  
  • Frequent preceptor for Nursing Education, M.S. graduate students

Laura Coles is a recipieint of the DAISY Award for Direct Care Nurses.
