2025 Roberts MSW Graduates Recognized for Service and Leadership

On Friday, May 9, the Master of Social Work program at Roberts Wesleyan University hosted its annual Hooding Ceremony, an intimate celebration of perseverance, purpose, and the power of social work.

This cherished tradition provides space for reflection as students, faculty, families, and friends honor the journey and look ahead to the impact these graduates are prepared to make. Of the 31 graduates in this year’s MSW cohort, 23 were able to participate in the ceremony.

Several students received awards that highlight the depth of their service and leadership:

  • Outstanding Field Practicum Student Awards: Justin Stranz and Angela Wollschlager
  • Green Social Work Award: Sondra Dawes
  • Community Impact Award: James E. Daniels Jr.
  • Student of the Year: Maria Greene Clark, who also delivered a moving address to her fellow classmates and guests

At Roberts, the Master of Social Work program equips students to lead in the field with a strong clinical foundation and a heart for justice. With concentrations in Mental Health and Child & Family Services, students can tailor their studies to the communities they feel called to serve. The program is available fully online, with flexible full- or part-time options, and both standard and advanced standing tracks.

Students engage in rich, interdisciplinary learning that integrates the bio-psycho-social-spiritual-cultural model. Beyond the classroom, they participate in meaningful fieldwork, cross-cultural experiences, and opportunities for advocacy at the local, state, and national levels. Roberts MSW graduates consistently exceed state and national averages for LMSW and LCSW licensure exam pass rates.

As the first Christian college in the nation with CSWE accreditation for an MSW program, Roberts offers a space where students of all backgrounds can grow intellectually, ethically, and spiritually. Whether graduates go on to clinical practice, nonprofit leadership, school-based roles, or policy change, they leave ready to advocate for dignity and healing in every context.
